Killing Crabgrass With Pre-Emergent Herbicides

Master Gardener Jerry Baker warns that before temperatures in your area consistently reach 60ºF, apply pre-emergent herbicides to your lawn to stop crabgrass -- before it gets its claws into your lawn! In my neck of the woods (New England), we're not even close to the right time for applying pre-emergent herbicides. But where you live, the time may be right around the corner. When in doubt, check with your local County Extension Office.
