Boxwood Hedges for Landscaping Structure

Saturday May 22, 2004
For the finest landscaping display, you need to go beyond plants. You need structure, too, as Dora Galitzki points out in this article on boxwood hedges.... "Structure," says Galitzki, "which guides a visitor’s eyes and feet through a space, is the underpinning of the gardener’s vision. This organizing principle can be achieved with hardscaping, such as paths and walls, but can also incorporate the landscaping materials themselves." And it is precisely this function that boxwood hedges have played in the classic landscapes of the world.
