I purchased a live blue spruce as a christmas tree. Can I put it in the ground Feb 14,the ground is very soft and muddy.

Yes, whenever the ground is workable again, you can plant your blue spruce. Follow my tips for transplanting trees. Since the blue spruce has been inside for a while, re-acclimate it to the outdoors gradually, before planting, by moving it back and forth for a few days between indoors and a porch, say, giving it a few hours out on the porch each day.
