I bought a lawnboy seven years ago, 2001. I was notified about a recall two months after I bought it. I have had nothing but issues with the unit every year. It is a poor start and runs like hell. I will never buy another lawnboy. Why would I bring it in and pay some idiot $70-$150 to’ tune’ it every year. when a new unit that runs for 10 years costs $300.

I have a three year old Lawn Boy lawn mower (10685). It has been great until this month. It starts and runs well for about 10 minutes, and then just stops. No coughing or sputtering, it just stops. After my Lawn Boy lawn mower cools it runs for another 10 minutes. I have replaced the plug, air filter, gas cap, and drained the carburetor and gas tank. Help

Dale,

This lawn care problem is a bit outside of the scope of my expertise, sorry. I’m the type of guy who feels pretty good if he just remembers to tune up his lawn mower occasionally, let alone any serious lawn mower maintenance!

Dale,

Your gas tank cap vent hole may be plugged.

Or you may need a new ignition control module (coil).

I have a lawnboy and the last time i started it….the engine seemed to go at full throttle. Its the type of lawn boy that I add gas and oil mixture to the gas tank. Since the throttle seems to be stuck….might it be a gas mixture problem….any ideas? Thanks
