Oleanders No Match for Old Remington Electric Chainsaw

Reader, Tom saw my review on Remington electric chainsaws and emailed me a "review" of his own. Since I'm sure other readers have experienced much frustration over chainsaws that refused to start up, I thought I'd share this chainsaw success story in Tom's battle with some oleanders. Reminds me of Timex's slogan: "takes a licking but keeps on ticking":

"I just wanted to let Remington know what a high quality chainsaw they produced. I had the opportunity last weekend and this weekend to use an old Remington yellow chainsaw that had been in the garage for about 30 years or more. It performed like it was new. I had alot of overgrown oleanders with thick branches at the bottom and was considering using the following:

1. A pruner
2. The long orange pole with the saw type blade at the end for cutting branches high in the tree
3. A saw
4. A chopper type hedge type tool

"Then I noticed the yellow electric chainsaw that I had bought a long time ago, from Sears I think. I went to Lowe's and got some chainsaw oil because the Remington was empty, so when I got home and plugged it in and it fired up, I was really amazed that after all this time it still worked!!

"Needless to say I eliminated all other untensils, except for the hand pruner, and away I went knocking down a lot of overgrown oleanders. That chainsaw worked like a charm. So I thought Remington would like to know that one of their Remington Electric Chainsaws, Model EL-1 and Serial #026502 is still alive and kicking after all these years. It really helped in making this very big job a lot easier...."

Way to slay those oleanders, Tom!
