Now that we've passed Christmas on the calendar, it's time to begin looking ahead to January 1 and making New Year's resolutions. The themes running through my Top 10 New Year's resolutions for your yard are enjoyment, planning and low maintenance -- all of which are worthy goals. Landscaping novices should think of these Top 10 New Year's resolutions as a call to action. Meanwhile, old pros at landscaping their yards will at least find my suggestions useful for dispelling the winter blues. One of my suggestions is to install a water feature (see picture).
