Neem Oil

Thursday July 3, 2008
Are you seeking an organic pesticide to spray on your landscape plants? Give neem oil a try; I did and was pleased with the results, as I report in this article on neem oil. Neem oil is derived from the neem tree, which, quips Steve Nix, "could have been designed by a celestial committee (maybe it was)." If you're new to pest and weed control, be sure not to confuse "neem" oil with "Preen" (they sound a bit alike!), which is a weed preventer.

I don’t have a comment. I have a question about low growing junipers. Can they thrive in a all shade yard ? I have a lot of mud areas around my trees and I need a fast growing ground cover. I saw an article in Southern Living about the junipers and was hoping it would work in my yard in Houston, Texas. Please help ?

The post above is actually about Neem oil, not creeping junipers, but let me say this much: while they perform better in full sun in the North, they profit from partial shade in the South. But they probably won’t do well in a deep shade.
