How to Kill Grass

Saturday July 26, 2008

The question of how to kill grass may arise, should you ever wish to convert part of your lawn to a planting bed -- without using herbicides, but also without submitting yourself to the backbreaking work of digging the grass out by the roots. In this article, I discuss a natural way to kill grass. In fact, this method of killing grass not only avoids the use of herbicides, but even returns organic matter to the soil. The only drawback is that you'll need to exercise patience.

This article on how to kill grass was inspired by an online discussion I had last year with you, my readers. Some of you may remember my poll, "Lawn Care: A Social Obligation?" A heated exchange occurred in the Comments section under that poll, a poll won by the anti-lawn care wing of my readership. I also received emails on the matter from readers, some of whom suggested I cover the topic of how to kill grass and convert lawn areas into planting beds. So in response to your suggestion, let's have our own little Kill Your Lawn Week!
