Worst Diseases for Evergreen Trees

While it's a shame to lose any trees to diseases, perhaps we feel the greatest pain when it's evergreen trees that succumb. Evergreen trees win a special place in our hearts on account of their versatility. They make for some wonderful shade trees in summer, specimen plants in winter, and screening plants or windbreaks year round. Steve Nix has taken 5 diseases suggested by foresters and landowners in his Forestry forum and ranked them according to the ability of these diseases "to cause aesthetic and commercial damage."
