Vine-clad walls is a classic look on buildings. But in the case of certain vines, first make sure that you desire them as a permanent fixture. Once vines with holdfasts (rootlets that anchor them to a surface) become entrenched, they do just that: hold fast. This makes them difficult to remove from walls without causing damage.
A solution is to set up trellises parallel to a wall and train vines upon them. This article about vines on walls mentions "hinged trellis work which you can pull away from the wall to maintain...it."
The same article asks (and answers) the question, "How can you paint walls with climbers?" Also, on the subject of espalier, the article discusses attaching training wires to walls.
A similar article I found equally useful has some good information on how to remove ivy from walls.
