'Invincibelle Spirit' Hydrangeas

Hydrangeas have been a popular landscape plant for some time now. So what need did the plant developers see for the new cultivar, 'Invincibelle Spirit' hydrangea? For that matter, where does this young upstart get off in assuming such a presumptuous name?

'Invincibelle Spirit' was chosen as the name to capitalize, presumably, on the name recognition enjoyed by one of the most successful hydrangeas of all time: Annabelle. But 'Invincibelle Spirit' has something that Annabelle lacks: flowers that are pink. It's that pink color that is the raison d'etre of 'Invincibelle Spirit' hydrangeas: It's the "pink Annabelle."
