There's no other season for decorating outdoors quite like the Halloween season. Why? Well, the variety of decorating material that you have at your disposal has a lot to do with it.
Even if you live in the North, you still have a few plants around, such as mums. The culmination of the growing season brings corn stalks, pumpkins, ornamental gourds and all the other components used in harvest-theme decorating in October.
Meanwhile, most children (and adults who can't get enough of horror flicks) prefer the sort of decorating theme featured in these scary Halloween pictures. I say "most" children, because when I was a kid, myself, I actually preferred the harvest theme (I was an oddball even as a child!). If your goal is to scare the bejeezus out of any passersby who lack your tolerance for all things ghastly, then you'll want to scour my scary Halloween pictures for some ghoulishly fresh ideas.
