Landscaping enthusiasts needn't go into hibernation in January, even if they live in a cold climate. You may not be doing much outside in the yard in January, I grant you that (well, other than shoveling snow, that is!). But in the comfort of your home, you can always plan future landscaping or gardening projects, right?

Oh no, don’t remind me! I look forward to a brief respite from yard work during this time of year. Unfortunately, this year has been so unseasonably warm that we had to cut the grass the week before Christmas. Finally, cold weather has hit and I’ll let the leaves fall where they may. Come spring, I’ll be ready to rock and roll in the yard again! (Though I do like the tips for sharpening tools and feeding the birds… great wintertime activities!)
Mowing the lawn the week before Christmas, huh? I’m not sure whether to envy you or pity you. I retired my mower for the year so long ago that I don’t remember where I stored it.
