What Are Your Landscaping Resolutions for the New Year?

By January 16, 2013

Follow me on:

Do you make resolutions for the new year about what you're going to do in the yard come spring? Planting a novel shrub such as a purple beautyberry (picture) and redesigning a flower bed are examples of resolutions for the new year popular with landscaping enthusiasts. Or if you're into hardscape, maybe you're contemplating a new patio or deck right now. picture of beauty berry

We gardeners are probably more likely than most to make resolutions for the new year. Oh, we don't always call it that, no. We might think of it as just planning next year's garden. Poring over nursery catalogs during the winter seems to us like the most natural thing in the world to do. You just might not choose to dress it up with a highfalutin label like "making resolutions for the new year."

Call it what you want, but we'd all like to hear about the plans or resolutions for the new year that you are making. If we pull together and get a conversation going about spring, maybe we can help each other beat the winter blues!

Hey David great article. I think synthetic grass is a great option for many businesses and consumers for one single reason, and that is to save money. DWP is hiking rates and their aren’t too many options when trying to save money on water in the garden. It’s a great resolution for 2011 and it’s definitely a hot new trend. Thanks Again, David.
