Care for Poinsettia Plants

Have you ever received poinsettia plants as a gift for the holidays? They're pretty to look at for a couple of weeks, aren't they? But then you begin to wonder whether or not to keep those poinsettia plants on as long-term tenants under your roof. After all, poinsettia plants need care, which means expending time and energy. Thus the question addressed in this article by Marie Iannotti, About's Guide to Gardening: Are they worth keeping, or should you just ditch them and drop some subtle hints to your relatives that you wouldn't mind receiving new poinsettia plants next year at the holidays?
