Water Wells -- Cost Recouped

Monday May 12, 2008
If you do a lot of watering on your landscape, should you have a water well dug, to lessen your dependence on the public water supply? The initial cost of having water wells dug may give some cause for concern. But water wells do eventually pay for themselves. I guess it's just a case of, "It takes money to make money" -- or, in this case, to save money.

This is very true! I actually work for a water well drilling company out of Holton Kansas and I have notice more and more that the wells we are drilling are at homes that have city water. With the money some people put into thier yards it would be foolish not to maintain them corretly and watering is a major priiority. Well when you punch in the numbers you will be amazed on how much you save with a well. I have seen water bills range from $50 to just under $500 a month! But when you spend the money to put in a well which can seem pricey when you are talking a couple thousand for a complete system you will be pleased to know that if the work is done properly and you spend the extra money for good products a well can cost well under $10 a month. Now tell me that a well is not worth it.
