Tensions Mount Over Holiday Yard Decorations
Saturday December 22, 2007
The "Festive Fanatics Contest" held by KFC that I blogged about earlier this month has a winner: the Holdman family now officially has bragging rights for the "best" holiday yard decorations.
Meanwhile, the tensions over airblown inflatables which I joked about in another blog post can no longer be considered a mere joke. "Police in some areas of the country even report that the growing number of blow-up Santas adorning people's yards are targets for stabbing and other forms of violent deflation," writes Sara Schaefer Munoz in a Wall Street Journal piece exploring the rising tensions over gaudy holiday yard decorations. If you wish to make your own voice heard, it's not too late to vote in my poll on holiday yard decorations: is your own preference for the "tacky" or the tasteful?
