Japanese Bonsai

Definition: Japanese Bonsai is the historically oriental art of dwarfing trees by careful root and stem pruning coupled with root restriction. The term, bonsai is from the Japanese for "potted plant," because Japanese bonsai trees are often kept in containers. Junipers and other needle-bearing evergreens are the most popular bonsai plants, but others are also used, including boxwood.
