Definition: Latticework is an open framework made of strips of metal, wood, or similar material overlapped or overlaid in a regular, usually crisscross pattern (occasionally latticework has a checkerboard pattern). Latticework is often seen as a component of porches, decks and gazeboes. Traditionally, trellises were made of latticework. Latticework also sometimes assumes a more prominent role on the landscape, functioning as a privacy screen.
