Rhythm

By David Beaulieu, About.com

Definition: In landscape design terminology, rhythm is the quality of a landscape design in which the illusion of motion has been created through the arrangement of landscaping elements. An example of rhythm is when the viewer's perspective is led beyond the foreground to a more distant part of the landscape, due to the way the landscape design "flows."
Common Misspellings: rythm, rhythym
