"Rootstock" vs. "Scion" in Plant Grafting

Definition: Rootstock means the root or part of a root used for plant propagation. In reference to the process of grafting, the rootstock is that part of a grafted plant that supplies the roots. Think of it as the "lower part" of the graft, while the scion is the "upper part."
