Vertebrate Animals

Definition: Animals with a backbone are, by definition, vertebrates. Examples of vertebrate animals are mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Animal garden pests are usually categorized as either invertebrate pests or vertebrate pests. The vertebrate animals most likely to damage plants are mammals, including deer, rabbits and rodents.
