Picture of a flower from a lavender rose of sharon shrub (Hibiscus syriacus). Rose of sharon shrubs are available in other colors, as well: red, white and light blue. Some rose of sharon shrubs bear double blooms. Generally speaking, rose of sharon shrubs can get 8'-10' tall and have a spread of 4'-6'. However, some cultivars of rose of sharon stay shorter (e.g., Hibiscus syriacus 'Minerva' reaches only 5'-8'). Most rose of sharon shrubs bear small, deeply-lobed, light-green leaves (may vary according to cultivar).
