Book Reviews of Books on Landscaping

I hope my book reviews will be useful not only when shopping for yourself, but also when shopping for others. Often, there's not the time or means to read a whole book before making a purchase. That's where my book reviews come in! I try to give you as thorough an idea as possible of what these books are about, making your buying decisions easier.
Book on Hardy Succulent Plants
Hardy succulent plants can be used to add color and interesting textures to the northern garden. There's something for just about everyone in this book on hardy succulent plants.
Native Plants Book
Why would you wish to garden with native plants? One answer is that native plants, being adapted to their surroundings, are easy to grow.
Garden Books With Literary Themes
Are you a no-nonsense, "just give me the facts" type of gardener? Then the books I discuss here won't interest you. For example, one of them opens by asking if achieving perfection in the garden is possible, or even desirable. If you enjoy such reflections, this book's for you; if not, you'll prefer the books of a more practical nature that I've reviewed in "Landscaping Books" (below).
Landscaping Books
These book reviews cover landscaping and gardening books focusing on such topics as landscape designs for the lawn-lover, ornamental grasses, how to draw landscape plans and how to build decks.
Japanese Gardens Book
Japanese gardens are popular in the West, and Yoko Kawaguchi's book attempts to instruct us in designing them. However, this book on Japanese gardens is meant for folks with an intermediate level of plant knowledge, not novices.
Before You Buy Gardening Books....
Before you buy gardening books, it can be helpful to read reviews. However, to derive maximum benefit from reviews of gardening books, you need to approach them with a "game plan."
