The foliage of many locust trees, including honey locust and black locust, turns yellow in fall. Some varieties, such as Sunburst honey locust trees, are low-maintenance, since their leaves are so small as to render raking them unnecessary. But some honey locust trees put out 16" seed pods that you will have to rake off your lawn. The pods look like flat, brown snakes!
Locusts are also one of the pollution-tolerant trees.
