Let the Children Play
A children's garden.

When hardscaping with children in mind, you want to create a space that is sturdy and safe, but also fun and exciting.

When hardscaping for children, you want to create something that is both safe and fun. There are three hardscape elements at work in this part of the children's garden display.  The outside wall is made mostly of logs.  We cut up a couple of trees and buried the ends a few feet in the ground so that they'd be secure when kids run on them.  You can be sure that whatever you build, kids will be all over it, so make sure it is sturdy.  For interest, we included a couple of boulders in one corner.  It's fun.  The logs and boulders are very natural. To add a different element, the tunnel and sign were made with boards.  It adds another component to the design, and provides another way for kids to interact with the garden.
