Question: What Are the Best Plants to Grow Around Saltwater Pools?
Reader, angelwings217 writes, "I'd like some help on landscaping around my saltwater pool. What kinds of plants to use that won't make a mess in the pool? Plants that do well by salt water. What kinds of grasses and low plants?"
Answer:

Using my list of salt-tolerant plants, select the plants that are the least messy. Winterberry is deciduous, so there will be some leaves to pick up in the fall; but it is not terribly messy. Even less mess will be made by the 'Bar Harbor' juniper.

You can buy dune grass from certain nurseries. Portulaca and Liriope would be the shortest of the salt-tolerant plants mentioned.
