Tree Planting Programs, Causes, Societies, Links

There are many organizations with tree planting programs and "societies" dedicated to disseminating information about trees. If you enjoy working for causes, information is available on their Web sites telling you how to get involved. The National Arbor Day Foundation is by far the best known of the lot.

Friends of Trees
In its "Trees Database" section, Friends of Trees provides a "database to learn more about individual neighborhood and yard trees and to find out which trees work for you. You can also find out more about the native trees and shrubs that we plant at natural area sites and about invasive species that threaten these native plants."
