Bought my Troy-Bilt Bronco riding mower from Lowes. I had similar issues with backfiring from turning off after throttling down engine. After second season I did my usual winterizing and stored my Troy-Bilt Bronco riding mower in a heated garage until spring. When I started prepping in the spring I notice a puddle of oil under engine so I pulled dipstick and found that entire cylinder head and oil reserve was filled with gas after storage. I drained engine of contaminated oil and refilled with fresh oil. I later found out that the gas was continuing to load up in cylinder head and work it's way into oil. I now have to take my Troy-Bilt Bronco riding mower to a service center to have the issue fixed. I was very disappointed with this issue. It is a shame that a trusted brand like Troy-Bilt is now no more well built than a Wal-mart MTD Yardmachine, which costs half as much.
