Reader Stories: Best Plants for the 4 Seasons of the Year

Each of the four seasons of the year, there should be at least one plant in the yard to gladden the heart and put a twinkle in the eye. How do you create such a landscape? Research the qualities of each plant before you buy it, to determine what season of the year it struts its best stuff. Armed with this info, select plants in such a way that, as soon as one is done putting on a show, another is picking up the slack.
