Bad Neighbor Has Boundary Issues

My neighbor of 7 years has been consistantly trying to invade our privacy in one form or another. She will use our yard to walk across the street to another neighbor's house to get her drugs on a weekly basis. I have caught her numerous times telling the lawn service to trim our hedge back away from our fence until it now looks like ice cream cones instead of a privacy hedge. The other day she even used our front yard as her personal dumping ground where she told her lawn guy to dump an entire load of sod and bags of dirt. Her excuse was that she had just had her driveway touched up and that she didn't have anywhere for the guy to pull in with his dump truck so she told him to drive it up on our yard and dump the entire thing there! I told him to get it off our lawn and she actually had the nerve to say that I was being arrogant. That's just the recent issues. She thinks it's her right to let her dogs crap on our yard instead of her own and gets offended if asked not to do so.

Bad Neighbors -- Series of Hellians

Bought our house almost 13 years ago. There is an illegal rental on the property next to our fence/bedroom window. First night in house it was a basset hound howling all night. The first weekend "Mona" has loud sex every four hours starting at 1pm Friday. We could set our clocks by her. Next the son, "bozo" moves in. His music is so loud windows on OTHER side of our house rattle as do my neighbors. He is either beating up his girlfriend or having loud sex. Incidentally he is now in prison for $5mil tax fraud. He thinks America has a de facto government and it is okay to take the money!?!? Next we have a 24/7 religious zealot with very unusual practices. Chanting some babble. Playing a violin, keyboard and flute simultaneously and badly. Now we have the hobbit with his bright light show going all night and a recently installed air conditioning unit that blows in our window. I am afraid of the homeowners because they are cruel and dangerous.

To William and Clinker

I don't know what to do anymore. I mow, water, plant flowers, weedeat, trim, paint but these people want their drugs and I'm in the middle. The sheriff's office sent 2 officers here last night; they truly are trying to help. The police task force sent the "big bird" to spot any drug plants behind my place. I do not have the option to move right now. I don't want to move right now anyway until I can afford the payments, since I will be the one spending MY MONEY on a new place, not the druggies next door. They are mentally sick. They play games with flash light making shadows on my yard for the cameras to pick up; well, da, the camera can't help what they do and I don't give a flying crap what they do either as long as it stays over there, 100 feet away. He has girl friends coming and going out of his house, putting a 7 year old outside in the heat for 2 hours while he entertains his friend. I wonder if they know that they aren't the one and only? There are 2 homes that are doing drugs, buying, selling.

If Only We Could Name Bad Neighbors

I wish we could name the names of the bad neighbors we report [Editor's note: You may *not* name their names.] They make our lives terrible, why not let everyone know who they are? I have had to go to extremes with these people, it's 4 against 1 disabled person. They want my property because of what I have. It's taken 35 years of hard work, not having it given to me either. I need to be rid of all 4 people -- their drugs and all the pot-smoking they do that I can smell in their shed in their back yard. The guy locked his 7 year old outside yesterday while his girl friend came over!!! She sat crying outside. What is wrong with this picture?

3 Years and Hopefully Gone

We had a bad neighbor move in behind us that has been causing problems from day 1. The police had been called over 50 times in the first 2 years. This guy is a drunk, on drugs, 50 and lives with his retired mother whom he has beaten up. His mother does nothing, and I began a campaign to begin filing complaints because some people were afraid to and would not get involved! This guy has threatened people, all women and kids and dogs. He runs when men walk out to confront him and locks himself in the house. And there are various other issues. 5 DUI's, a felon, and a suspected pedophile as well. I have had him arrested over the years about 7 times. I walk outside with a small video cam and have caught him on tape several times and had him arrested. He was given a No Contact order as part of his last plea, and broke it -- with a cop standing right there! Now he finally gets an upgrade to a felony -- his second -- and will be down in state prison for a few years. Being a coward, I am sure he will be happy!

Mean Nancy

I live in a Triplex, above an old 3 car garage. For 5 years nobody could park a car in the garage because the drive is too narrow. Well Nancy is one of those pushy people who swoops in and wants to change everything. She cut down a bush because she hated it. She put up dry wall from 4pm- 8:30 pm without giving us notice. And now she is going to park a rice rocket under my bedroom. And when I told her that I have a heart condition and I would like some peace and quiet, she told me I should move because she pays to be as loud as she wants whenever she wants. I hope there is a special hell for her and all the people like her.

The Early Bird Wakes up the Worm

About 4 months ago one of my best friends moved out. Then this couple with two kids moved in. Not only did they take my best friend's house, they took down over 30 trees and plants, big and small, for no reason. That's not the worst of it though. On Easter, yeah I said EASTER, morning, at promptly 6 am, they started cutting some more trees down. My other neighbor then screamed out, the window "It's 6:00am in the morning shut those things off!" Then later when me and some of my friends were chilling on the front lawn, the lady came up to us and COMPLAINED for being yelled at. First she said that it wasn't 6:00am and that it was 8:00 am. Then she said that she didn't celebrate Easter and it doesn't matter. Then after her 20 minute speech on telling us how rude we were, she started to walk away. Then as fast as could I ran into my house, opened the window, and played chopsticks on the piano, as loud as I could. I know it sounds mean but those people deserved it.

Drugs, Fire, Swat Team...

I could write pages about my bad neighbors. To start, a woman and her teenage son lived next door, when he turned 16 he started selling drugs. Cars coming and going all the time, weird/scary people creeping around the neighborhood. The police (6 cars at a time) stormed the house - with one guy screaming "you know me! You know me! Don't shoot!" Then, on a hot July day in 2005, the kid left his drugs burning in the detached garage. The garage went up in flames, then the house went up in flames. Burned it down and damaged the other neighbor's house and shed. But they rebuilt, and hosted Fight Club in the backyard several times, the mother said she was just trying to be a "cool mom". Thank God she was foreclosed on. Even in this horrible housing market it was better to have a foreclosed, vacant drug house next to you than people like them. When they left, the graffiti, random vandalism, continuous police patrols... stopped.

Bad Neighbors Have No Respect

I have horrible neighbors. They own 3 cars and have a garage. So what do they do? Park one car in the car port, one in front of the home.... The 3rd is a piece of crap truck that leaks oil. So where is the truck? He parks it in front of my house. I left him a polite note on his windshield to kindly park in front of his house (where the oil slick is) and to stop parking in front of my house. So what did he do? He placed the note on *my* windshield and still parks in front of my house! Not only is this a problem but he constantly fights with his father outside and my wife hears him through the double-pane, insulated windows! I have spoken to neighbors and they all said the same thing. He parks where he wants and when he wants. I can't figure out what I need to do to get him the message to stop parking in front of my home.

Bad Neighbor Hogs Parking Area

My neighbor has staked a claim to a public parking area and refuses to let anyone but her and her daughter park there. Our homes are separated by a main road so our side cannot have cars parked there due to the fire route. We have to park across the street alongside her house which is legal since its declared public and there is room for about 5-6 cars; but she makes up lies to try and get our two cars ticketed and towed, telling police they're abandoned. I live across the street and it's bad enough I'm young with arthritis in my lower back from an accident I had while in the military, but this is nonsense that I have to park my car a full block from where I live so that she doesn't have it towed. She acts nice and sweet to the police and older people, but for some reason she hates us just because of our unfortunate parking situation. I don't know what to do.

Bad Neighbors on Both Sides

I have bad neighbors. I have lived here 14 years since I have been married and grew up here before that. The neighbors on the left of me moved in about 4 years ago and they came over one day and said they wanted to buy the property behind my house which belongs to our power company(Consumers Energy) They let the home owners use it. They said that Consumers said that we would have to sign off on it. Well we told them no because we wanted to continue using it. His wife suddenly became real snotty and they have been nothing but nasty since, cussing me out every time they catch me outside alone, and trying to claim half my property. I called the police once cause he got in my face screaming at me. He lied and told them that I admitted to tearing up his yard -- and they took his side! It's terrible when you're afraid to step outside for fear your neighbor will cuss and scream at you for nothing! My other neighbor has put a big dog house and fence on the property and won't move it!

Mother & Son Bad Neighbor Team

My 60 year old neighbor & his 80 year old mother from Nebraska live across the street from us. They had their leaves all year round on their driveway and on their lawn for 3 years and the old witch picked up her weeds and walked right over the pile of leaves to go to the house. Guy used his power wash and leaf blower to blow their leaves to our property on purpose. The witch even told her lawn service to do the same. Her lawn service blew their leaves on our lawn. So unprofessional. We never did anything to them. My 80 year old mother and I had to rake up their leaves every week and they loved it. My neighbors are nasty and nervy and they watch us from morning to night. They're Psychos. We tried to tell the cops and it doesn't do any good. The cops believed the convincing lying neighbor rather than us. How sad!

Trashy Bad Neighbor Is Harassing Us

My older bad neighbor who lives across the street from us kept harassing us. Guy kept blowing his leaves with his leaf blower and power wash into our lawn on purpose every week. I had to use the lawn mower to go over their leaves every week. They are so jealous of our yard, and that is why they are doing that. I told them to stop it, and it doesn't do any good.

Revenge Is Sweet

My bad neighbor is a witch. She purposely planted bamboo right on the property line and it has destroyed a full mature hedge, and is now working on a 130 year old tree. I've contacted our township but there are no bamboo regulations so she is free to destroy my property, without repercussions. She has also planted huge, fast growing trees that just ate up the last of the sun in my yard. It's now complete shade. I am a single mom, and the amount of time I put in to trying to keep the bamboo back is unreal -- and unsuccessful. It's growing thicker and faster than ever. Tonight I made a decision, I'm going to fight fire with fire. She has a beautifully landscaped property and I'm going to start hitting everything that grows with Roundup, in the middle of the night. If my yard is going down, I'm taking hers with it.

A Really Bad Neighbor

I have a really bad neighbor. She has complained about my wooden lawn furniture because she doesn't like it, so the city is making me get rid of the furniture. I don't think that's right because I am a young home owner who is originally from the country. I moved to the city so my husband could be closer to his family because they are disabled. I'm thinking I am being discriminated against because of my age and where I grew up and my city doesn't do anything about her harassing us. Her house is in really bad shape, wires falling off her house along with her back porch, and she complains about everyone else. I don't think that is right and the city sees nothing wrong with her house. My city is really making me mad and I want to move from the city, but I don't have the money or the credit to buy another house away from the city. I just want something done and no one wants to help us fight against her. She needs to move or let other people live the way they want to live!
